OBJECTIVE
To protect users of nrppd.com and inform them: a) what information is collected; b) how that information is used; c) how that information is shared; and d) how to opt-out.
SCOPE
1) Personal Information Collected
NRPPD collects personal information upon application for electric service. That application includes personal information that includes; name, address, phone numbers, social security number, and electric usage or metering data. Upon opting in to additional services such as SmartHub for online account access or requesting notifications, NRPPD also may collect cell phone numbers used for text messaging and/or email addresses.
2) How Personal Information is Used by NRPPD
Personal information collected by NRPPD is used in a variety of ways, including;
a) to verify identity upon request to divulge account information
b) to calculate and send monthly billing statements
c) to contact customers regarding account status, such as late payments or disconnects
d) to inform customers of service interruptions, such as planned or unplanned outages and load control
e) to conduct credit checks and for bad debt collection purposes
f) to verify irrigation account metering accuracy
3) How Personal Information is Shared
Personal information is shared with third parties only to necessitate business functions of NRPPD and fulfill requested services of NRPPD customers. Information such as name and address are shared by NRPPD to its third-party billing software provider to generated and mail or email monthly statements. Information such as name, address and social security are shared with a third-party to conduct financial credit checks and to conduct collection activities for unpaid services. Information such as mobile phone numbers and email addresses are shared with third party services to generate text messages or emails to notify customers about account status or service interruptions. NRPPD may also share personal information with law enforcement but only when properly authorized with a subpoena or court order. Metering information, specifically on irrigation accounts, are shared with the Natural Resources District in order to verify accuracy of metering data. NRPPD will never share personal information with any third-party for marketing or promotional purposes
4) How to Opt-Out of Having Personal Information Used by NRPPD
Any person who wishes to opt-out of communications, except for monthly billing statements, from NRPPD my do so by accessing their account settings within the SmartHub app, their account online or by contacting an employee in the billing department directly by phone, mail or in-person. A person may opt-out from any or all of the above communications, either by; physical mail, email, and/or text messaging communications

The General Manager is responsible to ensure compliance with this policy.
