Electric Heat Rebates

Energy Efficiency Credit Program: 2017

Northwest Rural Public Power District and Tri-State G&T Association, our power supplier, offer rebates through our Energy Efficiency Credit Program to our customers who install energy-efficient heat pumps and HVAC equipment.

EER= Energy Efficiency Ratio
SEER=Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating
HSPF=Heating Seasonal Performance Factor
COP=Co-efficent Of Performance

Energy Star Rating - A complete list of qualified equipment is available at www.energystar.gov additional HVAC efficiency ratings can be found at www.ceedirectory.org

Heat Pumps -- Tri-State's Contribution

Minimum qualifying load for central, split and mini-split heat pump installation is 1 ton, and for terminal unit heat pumps is 12,000 BTU/hour rated capacity.

Central Air Source Heat Pump

  • Terminal units (PTACs similar to the typical under-window hotel room units): $85/unit
  • Central air source "split" or "mini-split" (ductless) units with electric resistance back up: $125/ton
  • Central air source "split" or "mini-split" (ductless) with non-electric backup: $150/ton
  • Additional Incentives: $100/unit with integrated controlled ETS back up, $100/unit Energy Star Rated 15 SEER thru 16 SEER or $150/unit additional incentive for Energy Star rated above 16 SEER

Groundwater Source or Closed Loop Heat Pump: $250/ton for ground source systems such as residential or commercial ground source closed loop or ground water source

  • Energy Star Certification is not required

Heat Pumps -- Northwest Rural's Contribution

Central Air Source Heat Pump

  • Terminal units (PTACs similar to the typical under-window hotel room units): $42.50/unit
  • Central air source "split" or "mini-split" (ductless) units with electric resistance back up: $62.50/ton
  • Central air source "split" or "mini-split" (ductless) with non-electric backup: $75/ton

Groundwater Source or Closed Loop Heat Pump: $150/ton

HVAC -- Tri-State's Contribution

Controlled Electric Units

  • Electric Thermal Storage units/timers: $16/kW
  • Thermal Slabs/timers: $12/kW

HVAC -- Northwest Rural's Contribution
